With the upcoming Earth Day, Every Day carnival, our month of June was filled with activities to educate ourselves on the importance of environmental sustainability and what practices we can adopt to tackle climate change.
In preparation for the event, we started off with learning more about our environment as well as the different types of pollution. Collection of unused and pre-loved goods from the families have started and we received everything from notebooks to pretty dresses! These donations kept coming in right up until the days before the event.
The following week, we researched how we have been contributing to pollution in our daily lives. This led us on further to investigate ways we could play our part not only in raising environmental awareness, but also to move towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
Finally, the last two weeks of June, the children were engaged in creating items to be sold during our carnival. These items are made out of recycled and upcycled materials. Take a look at the beautiful handmade pieces that our children are preparing!
