In late May, our K2 children ventured to the Red Cross Campsite. The camp was a hands-on introduction to basic first aid techniques, including how to respond to chocking incidents, effectively apply bandages and perform PCR and AED under the guidance of trained Red Cross volunteers.
The children participated in structured emergency drills and also learned about the vital items to include in an emergency bag.
They applied their first aid knowledge in simulated settings, practicing their techniques on volunteers acting as patients.
Beyond first aid, the children were introduced to outdoor cooking. They learned how to safely prepare simple meals.
The children ended of their night by playing with fireworks with supervision.
This camp not only provided our children with vital safety skills but also fostered a sense of independence and responsibility. The experience was enriching and enjoyable, leaving the children eager for more opportunities to learn and grow in real-world settings.
