Our aim is to get children, parents, residents and teachers to give a helping hand to the community. Therefore, we collaborated with Ren Ci Nursing Home @ Bukit Batok for a start. We got a list of items that are needed by the elderly at the nursing home and we wrote to the parents of our students asking them to donate any of the items in the list. We also created a leaflet for residents at Blk 289G, to inform them of our donation exercise in collaboration with Ren Ci Nursing home and the collection date. On 5th July 2017, teachers and K2 students went door to door to place the leaflet.
On 10th July 2017, we went door to door to collect the donations from generous residents.
One week before our visit to the home we sorted and packed the donations into boxes for easy delivery.
On 11th August 2017, we visited Ren Ci Nursing Home, delivered all the donations. And had some interactive time with the elderly. The children did pebble art for the elderly and performed two songs to entertained them.
