As part of our parental involvement efforts, we invited the parents to participate in our SSDB project. Parents were asked to work on a thank you card with their child at home to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the janitors in our neighbourhood.
The N2 children were provided with a “Thank you for your hard work!” colouring template; while the K1 and K2 children were provided with an empty template for them to draw and write a simple word of thanks. Through this simple activity, the children learned a little more about the challenging works of a janitor and how important they are in keeping our neighbourhood clean and pest-free!
In addition to the colouring templates, some parents also donated brand new boxes of disposable surgical masks. These masks were sent to us in good conditions and sealed in the plastics. In this challenging period, this simple act of kindness is particularly heartening and truly upholds the theme of staying connected with our communities to make a small difference in their daily work.
