In conjunction with the Earth Day celebration, MY World @ Yishun Northland commemorated their SSDB Launch on 21st April 2021. The children from N2 to K2 levels joined the activity and were briefed on this year’s SSDB main theme that is “Community and Environment”.
Selected children from each level were given the opportunity to share about their pledge cards which they created together with their parents at home, as a ‘Take home’ activity. These cards showed the children’s commitment in caring for their community and environment.
They also talked about the different marine animals that they made using recyclable materials such as milk gallons, magazines, disposable containers etc.
The K2 children shared with all, the posters they had created to emphasise the importance of taking care of ocean and marine life in it.
The teachers put in a collaborative effort to provide clearer understanding on caring for the environment and animals through a storytelling session.
The activity was concluded with the children doing the action for “Start Small Dream Big!”.
