“No one can do everything but everyone can do something.” This is the belief that our little Mulberrians from Mulberry Learning Centre @ Kovan hold on strongly.
This year, we decided to do our part for the environment, in particularly about marine conservation. Marine conservation is the protection and preservation of ecosystems in oceans and seas through planned management in order to prevent the over-exploitation of these marine resources. Very often, we will see numerous human-caused damages done to harm the marine ecosystem. Hence, this results in species loss, habitat degradation and changes in the ecosystem functions.
In conjunction with our World Ocean Day (8 June 2024), our teacher gave a short presentation on the insight of this international day. She talked about how we can unite and rally the people around us to protect and restore our blue planet. Our little mulberrians from K1 and K2 did a poster using recycled materials. This poster was displayed near the school’s entrance to raise the awareness in our school.
Our mulberrians from Pre Nursery to K2 and their parents also embarked on a learning journey to East Coast Park to pick up the trash they could found along the seaside or in the park. They picked up and collected the trash before categorising them according to the properties. After that, they disposed the trash accordingly into the correct teacher-made recycled bins.
A BIG KUDOS TO EVERYONE who put this event together successfully! 🥳🥳🥳👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
