As the children anticipated for the response from the seniors at the Orange Valley to their donations, they had also prepared questions and jokes to share with the seniors when we meet through our zoom session!
A few questions asked by the children were, ‘How do you keep yourselves busy during this period?’, ‘How is a day like for you at Orange Valley?’. The seniors were also very friendly and patient in responding to the questions, replying that they have morning exercises, mealtimes, and some even practice writing their own stories!
It was quite an eye-opening experience for our K1 and K2 friends as they conversed with the seniors and played games together with them. They were disheartened when it was time to end the session, and they told the seniors that they wish they will have the opportunity to physically visit them once this Covid-19 is over.
Afterwards, our children spent some time to reflect in their own SSDB journals, pondering what they liked and disliked about the session, and something that they learnt from the seniors!
