PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Clementi Blk 462A, 330 & 420A had combined effort as a branch in Start Small Dream Big Project to create awareness to our children and parents of the less fortunate families in our community.
In May 2018, we gave our K2 children a Take Home Kit task for SSDB project to do with their parents during the June holiday. This project served as a platform to reach out to the community and inculcate values of empathy towards the needy.
With parents’ support, children were encouraged to assist their parents in household chores such as set up and clean the table during meal time, wash the dishes, sweep the floor, water the plants, fold the clothes etc.
For each good deed, parents awarded their child points which were converted to cash amount. Afterwhich they purchased grocery items for a hamper. The hampers were presented to the children from Children’s Wishing Well (CWW).
On 27 July 2018, we visited Children’s Wishing Well. The children from PCF and CWW performed a mass dance and singing and playing musical instrument respectively. Our Guest of Honour, Dr Tan Wu Meng advisor for Jurong - Clementi GRC graced the presentation of hamper ceremony.
We believe our children had a meaningful experience and hope they will grow up to be our future leaders with compassion, kindness and humility values. In fact, they already are super heroes!
