K1 children visited the community garden several times as the nature walk programme. They were curious about the vegetable, plants and fruit seen in the garden.
The gardener, Uncle Lim, introduced to the class his latest gardening practice. He drilled holes in the PVC pipes then put them in the racks. He demonstrated how to put the soil into the PVC pipes then carefully added the seedlings. K1 children also experimented gardening with their little green Fingers, digging the soil with a metal spoon, then inserting the seedlings into each slot.
In this learning activity, K1 children experienced gardening with the guidance of Uncle Lim. They developed the positive learning disposition of engagement by sustaining good attention to carry out the gardening work. Good job, K1 children.
