MOE Kindergarten @ Punggol Green celebrated World Water Day on 22nd March 2017. The day kicked off with a sharing on what World Water Day was about by a team of teachers.
During the sharing, the children discovered where and how Singapore got water from. They also learnt about the limited clean water Singapore had in the past, which brought across a message to conserve the water we have now and not taking them for granted. At the end of the sharing, children penned down their ideas on how they could do their part to save water. Back in the classroom, the children realised that the water taps for the sinks had no more water! Each class had a pail of water which had to be rationed until class ended. Through this activity, the children experienced what it was like back then when we faced a shortage of water supply.
Here are some of their thoughts on World Water Day!

“Using half flush after using the toilet.” – Aafia
“One person can only use 2 cups so don’t waste water.” – Rayden
