In June, Tots and Teddies embarked on our annual Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project with the theme - ‘Caring for our Community.’ The focus of this project will be on the topic of inclusion. Through exploring this topic, the children will be introduced to disability awareness, with the aim to foster values of care, kindness, compassion, and instil the spirit of giving in the children.
To kick off this year’s project, we had a Launch Party on Monday, 29 May where we encouraged everyone to show their support for inclusion by donning purple outfits. The colour purple is associated with The Purple Parade’s campaign in Singapore, which aims to spread the message of supporting inclusion and celebrating the abilities of people with disabilities.
As part of our SSDB project, the children will be unleashing their creativity and produce their own distinctive works of art. These artistic endeavours will involve the creation of oriental fans, hats, t-shirts, scarves, and bags. Our intention is to arrange a sale of these items, with the funds raised being dedicated to MINDS.
