“Be kind to Animals. They have feelings too!”
This year, our K1 children embarked on the SSDB project on “Kindness to Animals”. The children were read a book titled “A crab, a Shell, and a little Help”. After that, they were engaged in an art activity where the children designed, painted and wrote a “kindness message” in their poster to raise awareness in spreading kindness to animals.
After completing their posters, the K1 children did a sharing session with the younger peers in the centre on the topic “kindness to animals”.
We also invited our centre’s parent volunteers to bring their pets for a show-and-tell session on the 11 September 2017. The parent volunteers introduced and shared information on how to care for their pets such as a poodle, a cat and tortoises.
It was an eye-opening experience for the K1 children as they get to interact and touch the pets. The K1 children have also learnt that adopting pets are better than buying one home as all animals would need a loving home!
