As we venture into learning about E-Waste, the children had a chance to have a talk with one of the company who manages E-Waste in Singapore, which is ALBA.
The children revisit the concept of recycling through the slides provided by the speaker, Mr Jerry. It was an interactive session for the Kindergarten 2 children as Mr Jerry provided quizzes and questions for the children to share about their own knowledge of recycling.
As ALBA works on E-Waste, the children were given an introduction about what E-Waste is and how electronic materials are recycled to recover materials to be re-used for other products. Some examples of materials are valuable metal such as copper, gold, silver and platinum to be re-used for the making of medals for athletes.
Mr Jerry also shares about how children can recycled their E-Waste through showing them the designated bins found around Singapore meant only for electronic devices to be thrown.
The children were also reminded to follow the Rs such as Reducing waste, Repairing if possible and recycling the things if it cannot be reused. It was such a productive and beneficial time for the K2s to grow their understanding further from recycling materials to E-Waste!
