Our theme for this years SSDB is showing appreciation to our Essential workers. Despite of what is happening around us, the essential workers have been fighting the virus and still standing strong. We wanted the children to understand what’s going on around the world and acknowledge the people who have been working nonstop regardless of the situation.
When the school reopened, teachers introduced the project through understanding what is Covid-19. The teachers told stories like “A new virus had arrived” and “Why we stayed at home”. The children understood it better and were able to relate.
The children learned about the song Back to school ABC’s and learned about the things that they need to do and follow in school like proper hand washing and usage of masks.
Masks are used by everyone so the children leqrnwd about the different kinds of masks available. The children listened attentively and were able to identify them. The K2 class even made their own mask craft using socks.
