The parental workshop aimed at providing our parents with more in-depth information was conducted on 22 July 2023. It was a joint presentation between M.Y World @ Hougang DewCourt and SSO@Hougang ComLink.
It was heart warming to see how enthusiastic the parents were to be part of this project! Even though not all parents were able to participate in the workshop, they signed-up to connect to the ComLink families through letters, participate in the donation drive and volunteer to help-out during the distribution of essentials.
During the workshop, we introduced the purpose of the project, the reason we were collaborating with SSO@Hougang ComLink, as well as our role in the project. We also shared a clear timeline and overview for parents to better understand the project as a whole.
SSO@Hougang also provided examples of how they rendered assistance to ComLink families together with their volunteers. After the workshop, it was truly encouraging to have 2 of our parents express their interest in wanting to know more and join the ComLink Befriender programme as volunteers.
