For our introduction to our Plant to Plate project, the children were first introduced to the question of “Where does our food come from?” They thought about it and learnt that much of our food comes from plants and animals.
As part of the project, the children had a take-home activity “What’s On Your Plate?”. This was an introductory activity before they begin delving further into the project about how the food on their plates came to be!
The children were tasked to record what they ate daily for 3-5 days. They took a photo of what they ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and presented to everyone in their class.
Through this activity, children also had the opportunity to learn more about their peers’ food preferences, portion and nutrition intake.
