As the children continued to learn about the importance of environmental protection by minimising food waste at home and in school, they extended their SSSDB project through a Food Donation Drive in the centre.
All parents of the children in E-Bridge Pre-School at Northshore Drive were encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, which were delivered to Food Bank Singapore.
In line with this initiative, the K1 children were engaged in a pre-school talk conducted by one of Food Bank Singapore’s representative, Mr Loke. They discussed about the commonly wasted food items and how each of them can participate in minimising it. Moreover, they talked about the food waste process, the food items they can donate to the food bank, and the people it serves.
The Food Donation Drive in school took place from 3rd to 7th of July 2023, and we have collected a total number of 15 boxes of non-perishable food items!
With the help of our generous K1 parents, they delivered the food items to Food Bank Singapore last 28 July 2023.
Truly, it makes a difference when people come together to serve a great purpose. Let the feeding continue! :)
