SSDB is an initiative by Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) to encourage preschools to create authentic platforms for children to innovate, problem-solve as well as to tap on their unique strengths to help others.
This year’s theme is - Many Helping Hands, Caring for Everyone!
Thus, Sweetlands Childcare Woodlands 896B embarked on this year’s SSDB (Start Small Dream Big) Project, “Flowers of Gratitude to our Community Helpers”
-
We kicked off the project with “896B Career Day” whereby teachers and children are encouraged to dress up as community helpers around the neighbourhood. This event focuses on the introduction of community helpers in which the teachers as well as children does a show and tell, the name of the community helper they dressed up as, together with the responsibility of the community helper chosen.
-
We also collaborated and involved our 896B parents from Infant up till Kindergarten Two to decorate a pinwheel creatively with their little ones. This colourful decorated pinwheel will then be handed over to our Nursery Twos, Kindergarten One and Kindergarten Two to spread appreciation to our community helpers around our neighbourhood.
Our little appreciators were so excited to meet the community helpers in the neighbourhood and express their warm thanks to them for making our Woodlands Neighbourhood safe, clean and a delightful one for our little ones to nurture and grow!!
Thank You to our Parents and Families for supporting this project!
