Singapore is known for its multi-ethnic, harmonious racial society, and our Racial Harmony celebration aims to promote and be proud of our own culture. Aside from the four major races in Singapore, the Filipino culture also came up as part of the social discourse.
In celebration of the said event, the children showcased their traditional Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian costumes. Moreover, the children and the teachers were delighted to see and distinguish each other’s costumes. It was a week of educational and fun-filled activities planned for the children to learn to appreciate each other’s uniqueness and cultural identity.
Children learnt to appreciate the uniqueness of every culture by trying out the games, songs and crafts, uniquely owned by the different races. The following crafts were made; Chinese Lanterns, Dragon Origami, Ketupat and Parol during our centre’s Racial Harmony Day.
We would like to thank the parents, teachers and staff for supporting our activities, celebrating with us and making this event a success.
