In this activity, the children became investigators as they investigated the use of electricity that they and their families use at home. They learnt that they can do this by looking at the bar graph that was charted. From here, they were able to see the trend of the usage of electricity.
As a class, we chose a month to focus on and created our own bar graph. In this bar graph, children charted their use of electricity. They read the results from the graph, compared the reading and identified who used the most and least electrical energy for the month. That being said, the children decided to create posters to as a means to remind their family members and themselves to do their parts in conserving more energy and saving electricity.
With a strong sense of energy conservation after the activity, they are excited to see if their upcoming bills will see a decrease in energy usage!
