The EcoKids Programme is organized by North East CDC. It provides a platform to inculcate environmental values in our Pre-schoolers (Nursery, K1 & K2), who will in turn share the values learned with their family members. North East CDC wish that the Pre- schoolers will channel the positive vibes to their family when they engage in eco-activities.
For the event, North East CDC organizers and facilitators first conducted an awareness talk with our Nursery, K1 and K2 children on 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Repurpose).
This is to promote environmental awareness to support the National Zero Waste Movement
and to inculcate good habits of reducing waste in a fun and creative way.
Thereafter, the facilitators conducted a repurposing activity where our children had a hands-on experience repurposing a toilet / kitchen paper core into a gift box using magazine paper, glue and string.
The facilitators shared an interesting story about 4Rs.
Children volunteered to demonstrate the actions for the 4Rs
“We can make car using plastic water bottle and make people using toilet papercore.”
Let’s make gift box together using recyclables
“A group photographs to show off our products!”
