On 25th May 2019, children at MFS Block 212 Choa Chu Kang invited their grandparents, families and foreign domestic workers (FDW) to our tree planting event. In conjunction with Biodiversity week initiated by Npark Community in Nature, our children, grandparents and FDW planted the tree ‘Gelam Tikus’ next to our school garden at Choa Chu Kang Park. We were also pleased to invite Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Health, MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC to grace our event. Everyone did morning exercise before planting the tree and naming it; ‘CCK Gratitude Tree’. Our children also brought their grandparents and elderly from Choa Chu Kang RC Zone 4 to the therapeutic garden at Choa Chu Kang Park whereby they learn about the different herbs and spices available in the garden. Finally, our children and teachers put up song performances for our grandparents, elderly and FDW before presenting them with hand-made gift. Heart-felt messages written by children were also hung on the tree for grandparents, elderly and FDW to appreciate. It was no doubt an enjoyable and heart-warming day.
