To kick start our ‘Start Small Dream Big’ project, we discuss with our friends and teachers about how we can care for our environment.
RECYCLING TIME!
We highlighted the importance of recycling and talked about the different types of waste. They also learnt about recycling as they sorted the recyclables accordingly to the type of materials.
Beach Clean - Up
To create environments awareness in children, we pretended to go to the beach and help to keep the environment clean by picking up litters by the “beach”. The children also expressed their thoughts by sharing that the fishes will be trapped if you throw plastic into the water at the beach.
Newspaper Sponge Tree
We made use of reusable materials like newspaper and cardboard to create a huge tree. Children learnt about the importance of trees as we gathered draft papers to recycle.
Freddy The Fish Experiment
We created awareness about water pollution as children discussed about how it affects the marine life. Freddy the fish educates children about his experience while traveling in polluted waters.
Planting Seeds
Lastly, we summarize how we can protect our Environment by planting a seed! Children learnt the importance of responsibility by caring for their plants and understand the cause and effect of each action.
