COVID-19 has brought about unprecedented changes to our lives. To adults, it means having to work from home, having to minimise social interactions amongst many other changes. It has brought about many challenges for adults and what more for the children? Many asked, “why can’t we go to the playground because of the virus?” “Why can’t we hold hands and play with all our friends?”
The teachers at MOE Kindergarten @ Dazhong wanted to help the children understand the impact of the virus and how the heroes in the community are helping to fight against this virus. The teachers talked to the children about how the doctors and nurses are working hard to take care of the patients. We wanted to teach the children to show appreciation towards the healthcare heroes. Hence, we kick started our centre’s Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project by asking the children to make Thank You cards for the staff at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the Singapore General Hospital.
The children and teachers drew their faces and made Thank You cards for the staff at TTSH and SGH. The children also suggested messages that they can write on the cards.
The K2 children presented the card to a representative from SGH.
Thank you, healthcare heroes!
From all of us at MK@Dazhong!
