As part of our Start Small Dream Big initiative, Newton Kindergarten’s theme shall encompass our core values of Love, Respect & Compassion by demonstrating these values towards their parents this very Parent’s Day. It is crucial for each of our children to be inculcated with these core values at a young age so it carries with them through life.
In an effort to show their gratitude and appreciation towards their parents, our school has planned a craft activity with the teachers & pre-nursery children. The idea of the craft activity was to engage with recyclable materials and create a flowerpot as a gift to their parents. This physical act of gift-presenting allows the children to display Love, Respect & Filial Piety. At the same time, the use of recyclable materials also gave the children a glimpse into environmental consciousness and the need for a sustainable future. The teachers narrated a book from the Nurturing Good Value Series, “Let Us Love” that taught our pre-school children on the significance of love and respect.
Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”-which is the first commandment with a promise- “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.
