The COVID-19 situation has affected many people around the world. Our Singapore healthcare workers have been fighting the battle relentlessly for us. To show our appreciation to them, we got our children to embark on their first SSDB initiative to create handmade soap crafts for the healthcare workers at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and neighbouring clinics. We brought awareness to the children that other than the frontline healthcare staffs, the other healthcare staffs like medical technologist, operators, contact tracer and cleaners were equally important in helping us fight against COVID-19.
Our teachers assisted in premixing the soap dough with LUX shower gel with corn flour and red food colourings. With the premixed dough, the N1 and N2 children created cute soap crafts using moulds provided while the K1 and K2 children were taught the steps in creating soap flowers.
The soap crafts were packed and delivered to the staffs at SGH on 13 March 2020 and to neighbouring clinics on 16 March 2020. Once again, we would like to thank all who have helped us fight the battle against COVID-19!
