For the second year, MK@Oasis collaborated with the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) for the Think! Contemporary Preschool programme.
The kindergarten 2 children visited SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark for a guided tour of Superfluous Things: Paper.
Inspired by the different artworks observed at the gallery, our children responded to them and created their very own pieces with everyday materials.
Our artworks range from transforming recycled paper into a collage of beautiful flowers, giving cardboards a new life by tearing and illustrating on them, creating dioramas in recycled boxes with families, creating an assembly of toilet rolls to emulate elements in nature and sending powerful messages on the importance of conservation through paper quilling.
Not only did the children translated their observations and discoveries at SAM into art pieces, they have also learnt that our human actions have impacted the environment and the world around us. The importance of conservation and taking green steps is also reinforced.
