Our young innovators were introduced to the Paralympic Games, a comprehensive international sporting event for the physically and mentally handicapped. Participants of the Games include athletes with mobility impairments, amputations, blindness, and cerebral palsy. Through some intentional activities, young innovators experienced the restrictions of being visually and physically impaired. An interesting discussion ensued where children shared several interesting insights. One innovator reflected, “We should really help one another.”, while others nodded in agreement - A simple yet sound epiphany that exhibits the mature social understanding of our children towards their interaction within the community. Watching the Paralympic Games, our young innovators witnessed the courage and strength of athletes with disabilities while they took on their challenges and pursued success.
