As the world battles against Covid-19, teachers and children of Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool (Yishun) started off the SSDB programme by expressing our love and concern for the community through the making of Appreciation and Get Well Soon cards. These cards are dedicated to the front liners working as health care personnel, cleaners and also patients who are warded in the hospitals.
All the children, from PG to K2 classes, were involved in making these lovely cards to cheer for the frontliners. Apart from making the cards, the teachers and children from K1 classes even created a lovely video to deliver their special thank you messages to the unsung heroes.
Despite the restrictions for outdoor activities, children of the N1 Courage class managed to present their appreciation paper flower craft to the cleaner of our centre to thank her for keeping our centre clean and virus-free. As it was unsafe for the children to go out of the centre, the rest of the cards were delivered by the teachers to the cleaning attendant of our neighbourhood, healthcare personnel of Khoo Teck Phuat Hospital and Buddhist Tzu Chi Traditional Chinese Medicine Free Clinic (Khatib). In addition, some of the K2 children specially requested that we also mail out the cards to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and PCF Sparkletots@Fengshan to thank the frontliners for staying strong and taking care of the community.
The recipients of the cards were delighted to see the video and little gestures done by the children. The children were also very happy to be able to show their gratitude to these front liners who are taking care of everyone in Singapore. #SGUNITED
