This year’s SSDB Kindness project, Pat’s Schoolhouse Lakeside will be working on the project titled “I Care” to spread kindness and care for ourselves, families, friends, the people around us and our environment.
To kickstart the launch party, teachers shared about the project to the children. The teachers introduced the project and shared about how we can care for ourselves, the people around us, and the environment through stories, videos and songs. They were also introduced to the plans and activities for the project this year.
Caring for myself: children will discover how to care for their personal hygiene, exercise, balanced diet and practice mindfulness.
Caring for people around me: children will discover how to use kind words and kind gestures to care for the people around them. Our school will celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Parents’ Day to show care and appreciation to their families.
Caring for the environment: children will discover the 3 R’s, and how to apply the 3 R’s and how they can help to keep their surroundings clean. The centre will also engage the children in recycling activities from Term 3 onwards.
