The children of YWCA West Coast Child Development Centre started our project about saving water and had our launch in April 2017. We partnered with PUB (Public Utilities Board) and they provided us with Water Saving Kit to give out to public to raise awareness about saving our precious water in our everyday use to help our environment.
The children proudly parade from the centre wearing their orange hat to the nearby Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre carrying the banner that say “SLOW THE FLOW, SAVE H2O” and their artwork about saving water and water droplets while singing the rap,
“Water water precious water
we use water everyday,
I save water, you save water
coz the water matters,
Slow the flow save h2o (3 times)
Let’s start caring, let’s start saving
For the human being,
Water water everywhere, try to save it of you care”
At the hawker centre, the children distributed the water saving kit to the stall owners and passers-by and tell them to help in saving water.
The children learn that through their small ways, they can help to protect our environment by inspiring the public to save water.
