The Centre had collaborated with SBS Transit to organise a project to show appreciation to the Bus Captains at the Boon Lay Bus Interchange.
The first activity was the Home-School Partnership project for the Kindergarten 2 children and the parents. They made 3D Bus Model using recycled materials such as used tissue boxes , used milk cartons, cardboard boxes and paper rings. They assembled the materials and coloured with different art mediums.
The children of all levels involved in various ways. The Pre-Nursery and Nursery children made the Bus Book Mark by decorating it with colourful crepe paper. The Kindergarten 1 children created the Thank You card with paper cut-outs and wrote appreciation notes. The Kindergarten 2 children created the Kindness Lollipop with heart shape cut-outs, wooden chopstick and wrote appreciation notes. They also decorated the 3D Bus Model with SSDB stickers.
The teaching and non-teaching staff gathered the items and wrapped into attractive hampers. Each hamper comprised a 3D Bus Model, a Kindness Lollipop, a Bus Book Mark, a Thank You card, a Good Morning towel and a SSDB sling bag.
On 7th May, two centre staff and two parent volunteers delivered the hampers to the Boon Lay Bus Interchange. The group met the Bus Captains and shared the objectives of the activity. The hampers were presented to the Bus Captains with the help of the SBS administration staff. The community collaboration was posted on the SBST Facebook page.
