For the past couple of months, the children took turns in taking care of their crops. They watered the plants in the garden, took time removing the weeds, placed earthworms in the plots, and even removed some snails. With all of their efforts and perseverance, they were able to harvest bountiful vegetables which they have been enjoying for their lunch.
Through this process, the children have greatly developed their motor skills as they were introduced to simple scientific concepts. This activity also encouraged healthy eating among the children. The past months of planting, growing, taking care of seeds and producing vegetable crops have been challenging. There has been no better teacher of patience than gardening and it has been worth the wait!
