YMCA Child Development Centre Toa Payoh kickstart SSDB with a launch party on 22 April 2021. Our Theme ‘” Caring for the Environment” focusses on water conservation. Children will learn the importance of water and how each of them can help in saving water.
In preparation for the launch party, K1 and K2 children created a big banner entitled “Conserve Water, Conserve Life!” The banner is displayed outside the school to convey the message of saving water.
Teachers read a story entitled “ A Water Wally Adventure” to learn the many ways of saving water.
After a short discussion on ways to save water at home and in school, children wrote their pledges on raindrop templates.
Children dance to the song and music “Turn off the tap” to reinforce turning off the tap during brushing of teeth, taking a shower and washing our hands. Good Job children!
The SSDB Launch party ended with happy children enjoying light healthy refreshment - Pumpkin Spring Onion Waffles with Ribena.
