In another virtual session with the residents of Ren Ci Nursing Homes, the children learnt more about the common signs of dementia among elderly people through the story “What is happening to sweet Grandma?”. They understood how important family and community support is for dementia patients, and how each one of us can show patience and compassion to old people we meet.
Through the online dialogue with the residents, the children showed and shared about their drawings of the things they love to do with their grandparents. There were two elderly residents who also fondly shared about their experiences with their own grandchildren. These meaningful exchanges truly help both the elderly and the children build closer ties and hopefully appreciate the people in their lives more.
