As part of this year’s SSDB theme, we are partnering with All Saints Home (Tampines) to raise awareness on caring and respecting the elderly. We began our theme with a discussion on kindness and it’s importance in our environment. We read books, shared our experiences and related this attribute back to the elderly. When asked,
“What does kindness mean to you? What does it mean to be kind?” We received such heartwarming and thoughtful responses!
Inspired by the story ‘The Kindness Quilt’, the responses were pasted on scrap cloth and joined together to create their very own quilt!
After their quilt making session, the children did a role play session. A group of classmates would create a scenario and act it out. The other group of children will observe and respond accordingly.
