Previously, the children had a fun-filled experience when they went on the ‘Cloud Explorer’ guided tour at Garden’s by the Bay. Moving forward: We extended children’s learning by giving our children the opportunity to have hands-on learning of gardening in class. They felt excited when they were told to plant roses and catcus from seeds as it was their first time planting with their bare little hands.
The teacher introduced the necessary ingredients for the seeds to grow into plants with the children. Thereafter, she demonstrated step by step of how to plant from seeds with the class. The children were fascinated by the procedures and they could not wait to try it out themselves.
Thereafter, it is time for the children to do planting with the teacher’s guidance. They had a fun and educational exposure planting the seeds and putting the necessary ingredients into the pots with their friends and teachers. At the end of the activity, the teacher assigned each child the duty of watering the pots in the days to come for the seeds to grow into beautiful plants.
The children are seen to actively participate and taking responsibility of their duty to nuture the pots with great care and love.
