It is true that children mostly love to see and talk about animals. Hence, the class had enjoyed reading the story, “A Stray”, written by Micheal Wang. It is a story of a girl who wants to have a stray cat.
And this became the central topic of this year’s Starts Small Dream Big project of PCF Sparkletots Preschool @MacPherson Blk 54 with the theme “We Care for Animal Care”.
Our launch party was held on 23rd of April 2021. This year’s SSDB was centralized from N2-K2 level. During the launch party, the N2 children were excited to wear their hats while doing the activities prepared for them, as it was their first time to do the activities for SSDB.
At first, the children were introduced the theme of this year’s SSDB. There was a discussion about pet care through video showing, and how the animals live in the shelter. Then, they listened to the story about stray animals which was saved by the animal shelter and later on was adopted. Thanks to SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) who provided materials about pet caring! The last part of the activity was the children doing a pet craft.
The project is commencing, and the children are expected to do simple activities that will give them awareness on responsible pet care, and what they can do to help SPCA, which we collaborated with.
