In relation to our journey in creating a greener environment, the K1 and K2 children were tasked to be involved in setting up our school’s very own mini-vegetable garden.
The children were engaged in various activities that raised their awareness on the benefits of eating vegetables and its importance. The teachers also conducted a discussion with the children on the various tools used for gardening as well as the basic steps in planting.
The children had fun in planting their own vegetables in the recycled pots that they have decorated prior to this activity.
In conclusion to this activity, the teachers helped the children in doing up the physical setup for the garden in the hallways outside the centre. The teachers used hooks and old strings to hang the pots on to the railings of the corridor as our centre is located at the 2nd floor. The children love checking the plants to look for any developments whenever they come to school and before going home. ☺️
