Celebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) was established in 1957 to provide persons with Cerebral Palsy and multiple disabilities with early intervention, special education, rehabilitation services, day activity centre programmes, vocational training and gainful employment in Singapore.
Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children (EIPIC) is one of the programmes provided by CPAS.
As part of our programmes to allow children learn about value of respect and empathy towards others who are different and with disabilities, we had made arrangement with CPAS to visit their EIPIC’s Classroom (located at Block 629 Pasir Ris Drive 3) on 17 August 2017.
During the visit, our children joined the EIPIC Programme’s students in their Music & Movement Lessons; their activities of daily living; and have Snack time with them. Our children were observed to have mingled and interacted with the students well and also, have kept their thoughts to the students.
After the trip, the children were able to discuss with their peers and shared what they had observed. They were able to come to conclusion that even though the students (EIPIC) could not talk, kept shouting but they could still interact and have fun with them together.
