The big day arrived and the children were excited to showcase their talent to the elderly living in Pertapis Senior Citizens Fellowship Home. They were eager to put on a good show for them after all their practice!
Each class prepared 1-2 items and we also had some children showcase their individual talents such as dance, piano, taekwondo and storytelling. The elderly at Pertapis were happy and clapped along to the songs and dance. They even joined our Senior Kindergarten cubs for a final mass workout along to this year’s National Day song “The Road Ahead”. It was a meaningful way for both the children and the elderly to interact with one another despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic!

The programme ended with a virtual tour by our Pertapis coordinator, who showed us around the home and introduced some of the female elderly folks living there. The children were excited to greet them and through a virtual tour and introduction, they gained a better sense of perspective of what this project was all about.
From now till 6th September, we will be proceeding with our next step in our SSDB project, which is a donation drive for Pertapis. Stay tuned!
