My First Skool @ Serangoon North worked with Singapore Kindness Movement to instil positive values of being kind, gracious and respecteful. The project was implemented over 4 month via various collaborations with community partners.
Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have.
- Make a Difference Puppet Show
On 19th March, we invited puppeteers from Singapore Kindness Movement to present a puppet show on acts of kindness. It was an interactive session. Children spoke and discussed about being a kind and gracious citizen.
- Visit to Kheng Chiu Happy Lodge
On 17th April, children, teachers and parents visited Kheng Chiu Happy Lodge. They engaged in games and performances. Children also made flower daises with messages of kindness and distributed to the old folks. The afternoon ended with a tea break session together with the old folks. Children displayed respectful behaviour towards the old folk and were passionate to serve them.
- Kindsville Tour
On 8th May & 4th June, children visited the Kindness Gallery. They participated in a series of activities that encouraged positive values. They role played kind acts that could take llace in different situations.
- Art Jam by Serangoon Community Club
Children and parents took part in a art compeitition and painted their interpretation of kindness. We were honoured to have Miss Chan Hui Yuh, PBM, Adviser for Aljunied GRC Grassroots Organisations to grace the event. Parents guided children on expressing their thoughts ln kindness.
The SSDB project involved meaningful collaboration between all stakeholders and has always made positive impact to children and the world around them.
