Uniting The World, One Shoebox at a Time

This year, we kickstart our Start Small Dream Big Project 2019 with the theme, ‘Uniting the World, One Shoebox at a Time’. The project aims to encourage children from the Kindergarten One and Kindergarten Two classes, to look at ways they can recycle and reuse materials to create new items.

With this project, the children also learnt to inculcate good values such as kindness, humility, care and compassion. The children collected recyclables and turned them into useful ‘Shoebox Tasks’ under the teachers’ facilitation. We also held a fundraising event where all proceeds collected were donated to Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home. The children visited and engaged the elders at Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home with the task boxes that they have created.

Phase 1 - Collecting of recycled materials

Phase 2 - Create shoebox tasks (activities in a box)

Phase 3 - Preparation of the fund-raising event and Fund-raising event held in the school

Phase 4 - Donation and visit to Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home
