A key drive affecting on children’s future prospects is the climate change. For young children, these issues are seems almost inevitable. Therefore, we focus and extend on our centre’s Niche Programme-Environment Education Project during the June holidays.
We involved the parents in bringing white T-shirts for their children and make handprints design as the intention of pursuit of global environmental sustainability.
As an Early Years centre, we believe in start small and dream big, particularly involving the infants.
The SSDB tagline ‘No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.’ The educarers being the role models, designed their unique T-shirt with the infants as part of the environment sustainability project.
It is important to have a sustainable collaboration involving the families and the communities that benefits the children’s learning and development.
Children participated in the RICHO ECO Action Day by making simple pledges on environmental sustainability such as ‘I pledge to bring own recycle bag’, ‘I pledge to turn off the water when brushing teeth’, and ‘ I pledge to turn off the electricity when not in use’.
