Stay Connected, Make A Difference - Our students learnt the need to practise good hygiene habits and adopt the desired restroom etiquette from the Restroom Association Singapore (RAS) online via MS Teams on 18 May 2021.
Amid the Covid-19 situation, the trainer from RAS could not visit our kindergarten to conduct the Happy Toilet Talk physically. However, owing to our advanced technology, our students were able to stay connected with the RAS via video conferencing.
The children were exposed to the proper handwashing techniques, such as singing the eight steps of handwashing to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. During the pandemic, it is vital for us to ensure that our hands are clean as it aids in preventing the virus from spreading. Regular and proper handwashing can protect us, our family and the community.
Through the talk, children also recognised that toilet cleanliness is everyone’s responsibility. They learnt that they should not only rely on toilet cleaners to keep the toilet clean. Instead, they should help maintain the toilet’s cleanliness by flushing the toilet after use, boys should aim well while urinating, and girls should not squat on the toilet seat.
After attending the talk, the children showed good hygiene habits and restroom etiquette. As a result, they have made a difference by being responsible residents - keeping themselves germ-free by washing their hands with appropriate technique and ensuring that toilet facilities are being used responsibly.
