[End May]
To reinforce gratefulness and appreciation, children discussed about people whom they can be grateful for. Some suggestions mentioned by them included the rubbish collectors, policemen, security guards, drivers, family members, as well as their friends. The older children elaborated further by explaining why they should be appreciative, while the younger ones shared about their feelings towards those whom they want to thank.
After which, each child was given a star template provided in the starter pack to note their thanksgiving thoughts on. Some drew, some traced, and some decorated the card with the Start Small Dream Big stickers.
The cards were then stringed and displayed at the entrance of the school for children to take pride and be reminded of their kindness expression. When caregivers and family members saw the cards, many shared that they were inspired by children’s initiation in spreading kindness. Indeed, such small steps taken by children have influenced the adults to be more proactive in being gracious.
