We all want our children to show love and appreciation towards others. For a start, I believe that it is important to start building affection within the family. We would love to see children showing appreciation towards their mum and dad.
Therefore, the children and teachers collaboratively came up with a list of activities for the Parent’s Day Celebration.
In the days leading up to the Parent’s Day Celebration, the children added a personal touch by hand-printing the border of the Parent’s Day Celebration banner. Additionally, the children worked hard to prepare three dance performances for the Parent’s Day Celebration.
To kick off the Parent’s Day Celebration, the children stood on stage in their positions as they awaited the arrival of their parents. Once the parents have gathered, the children performed three dance choreographies for their parents.
Subsequently, the teachers guided a few parents together with their children to proceed to the next activity: Wood Painting. During this activity, parents and their child created a Handprint Art on a piece of wood. This exercise allowed parents and children to exercise their creative-thinking skills. Some parents drew a tree outline to use it as a base for their Handprint Art. Once they have completed the Wood Painting, the teachers took a Polaroid Film photograph for the parents to bring home as a takeaway gift from the Parent’s Day Celebration.
Upon completion of the Handprint Art activity, the teachers guided every child to offer a cupcake as a gesture of appreciation to their parents. In addition, the children presented a personalized card to their parents.
