The “Start Small Dream Big” project 2019 aimed to instil in children the value on the importance of refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose and recycle. K1 and K2 children from My First Skool at Tampines Blk 341 embarked on learning journeys to explore how they could use materials found in the environment to make crafts. Parents also played a part in the recycling effort by contributing recyclable materials to the Centre. Children would be making useful crafts in school together with their friends and teachers, which would be put up for Charity Sale in early September 2019, in the form of barter trade. Parents would contribute groceries in exchange for the children’s crafts. The groceries collected would then be donated to St Luke’s Eldercare @ Changkat during our monthly visit in end of September 2019.
