Following the lead of the children who have expressed their interest and intention to “plant more trees”, we decided to participate in biodiversity campaign known as the Green wave project.
What is the Green wave project?
Green Wave is a worldwide biodiversity campaign that educates children and youths about the importance of protecting our natural environment. As Singapore continues to urbanise, we should all strive to keep our City in a Garden green and vibrant.
Each year, students from around the world plant locally important trees in their school compounds.
The trees and planting hole will be provided by Nparks.
As a school, we decided where the tree will be planted. On planting day, we took turns to assist the gardener in planting our chosen tree, a Jati Laut otherwise known as Sea Teak in our school garden.
