While the older children went to the Earth Week Carnival organized by the Preschool Market to learn about caring for Planet Earth through the 3Rs, conservation of energy and loving nature, the younger children focused on water pollution.
Everyone had their wetsuit on and the teachers set up a huge water play area outdoors where the children had the opportunity to experience life under the sea. They pretended to be different sea creatures who had to battle with plastic bottles being thrown into the sea, their home:their habitat.
Some of them pretended to be marine conservationist where they collected all the plastic bottles in an effort to save their “fish friends”.
During clean-up time, instead of disposing the water off,our children used the same plastic bottle to collect the water from the tub. They watered the plants around the school using the water from the tub. Great job everyone, conservation at its best!
